To See and Do ... in Scottsdale and Phoenix

Scottsdale, Arizona is one of the West's most breathtaking and beautiful cities, but it is also not lacking in substance and culture. From family-orientated activities to an exciting nightlife to world-class shopping, you have it all just a short drive from OFV's North Scottsdale home.

Phoenix has become quite the metropolis! The city is both well-planned and easy to navigate. Getting anywhere in the Valley of the Sun is not a problem even for the most directionally-challenged. Not only can you get around easily, but there are a TON of things to see and do!

OFV wants all of their guests to experience all that Scottsdale and Phoenix have to offer. Take a look at some of the activities in the area for every kind of guest (click on each attraction to view the website for add'l information):

* Family Fun *

Crackerjax Family Fun & Sports Park - this attraction is just a short 10 minute drive down Scottsdale Road. Our family has enjoyed quite a few fun-filled afternoons here!

World Wildlife Zoo & Aquarium - this zoo is BY FAR one of the best zoos our family has visited. The kids list the World Wildlife Zoo as one of their favorite places in Arizona.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park - I don't know about all children, but MY kids LOVE trains! This park gives those train-loving tykes a chance to get up close and personal with their beloved"choo-choo's". Not to mention, a visit her makes for an educational day for both children and adults.

Phoenix Zoo - Having visited this zoo multiple times, you would think my kids would grow tired of the zoo, but NO! Phoenix Zoo keeps them entertained, all day, every time!

Rawhide Wild West Town - For the REAL wild, wild West experience visit Rawhide! This is a fun stop for both adults AND kids who want to be cowboys.

Arizona Science Center - My oldest has listed this attraction as his ALL-TIME FAVORITE! The Arizona Science Center really peaked his interest in all things science.

Also try:

* Good Eats *

Sushi Brokers - This is the spot of our 1st date, but it's also an amazing sushi restaurant! The variety and originality of their menu is TOPS. Regardless of the history we have here, this would STILL be our favorite place to grab a bite.

Mastro's Steakhouse - Go with a HUGE appetite! The portions are big and the food is tasty! But leave room for wine and desert.

Pinnacle Pizza - Want a good salad & appetizers? Want pizza and a movie at home? THIS is the best in the area and they delivery to OFV's Scottsdale home.

* Shop 'til You Drop *

Scottsdale Fashion Square - This mall is known the world over for the endless list of luxurious stores. Tres chic and close by!

Paradise Valley - Another mall within 20 minutes if OFV's Scottsdale home. This is certainly one of my stops when we are in town!

Desert Ridge Marketplace - This is a beautiful outdoor shopping center with EVERY store imaginable, from high-end to economical. It also is chock-full of good eats!

Kierland Commons - This shopping destination has been called Phoenix's Main Street of Shopping!
